It is a commercial term that identifies the macro sector of the so-called "Out of Home" food consumption.

Horeca is the acronym for Hotellerie - Restaurant - Cafe/Catering.

The Horeca channel is represented by all those who professionally administer food and beverages. In Italy this sector is mainly composed of small and micro enterprises.

It is precisely this fragmentation (typical of our country) that makes this sector particularly sensitive to various variables such as: seasonality, geo-political events and last but not least any social situation that has an impact on the economy, just think of the Corona virus emergency.
