How does a lava stone grill work?
The lava stone pebbles, positioned directly beneath the grill grates, are heated by a gas-powered flame. The heat radiated by the red-hot stones ensures even and healthy cooking, combining the practicality of a gas grill with the results of a barbecue, without exposing food to excessive combustion smoke.
The stones retain heat for extended periods and can be washed and reused multiple times before needing replacement.

Traditional grilling materials, such as wood or charcoal, are more complex to manage and typically cause troublesome flare-ups due to fats dripping from the food during cooking. This can generate combustion smoke and burn food, releasing harmful substances or even charring parts of the food, with extremely negative consequences for health.
In contrast, a gas-powered lava stone grill is easy to manage, heats up quickly, produces no ash, and delivers exceptionally even cooking. The primary advantage of this type of grill lies in the fact that cooking does not occur in direct contact with the stones. Instead, the stones serve solely to evenly heat the upper grill, where the food—such as meat, fish, or vegetables—is placed. Cooking fats are directed away through dedicated drains or collection trays.
The benefits include ease of cleaning and perfect cooking results that are difficult to surpass with traditional grills. Today, professional lava stone grills are becoming increasingly popular due to these advantages and the growing availability of such products.
