Rimini is easily accessible by various means

By car: Fiera Rimini is located in via Emilia 155, in the north of the city and can be reached via the A14 Bologna-Bari motorway network. The distance of the exhibition center from the exit: Rimini South is 7 km, while from Rimini North it is 6 km. The Rimini Nord tollbooth is the recommended choice, to avoid having to cross the whole city.

By train: The exhibition center has an internal station that operates on the Milan-Bari line. There is a special train service that will shuttle between the stations of Santarcangelo di Romagna and Cattolica. Consult timetables and stops.

By plane: Bologna Airport / BLQ - Distance: about 120 km from Rimini Fiera

Shuttle Rimini - Bologna: a fast, practical and comfortable service. It is active every day with ten daily trips, coinciding with the arrivals and departures of the main flights.

Bergamo Airport / BGY Distance: about 344 km from Rimini Fiera. A free shuttle booking service is available.

How to get around in Rimini

The organization has announced that special transports will be set up to coincide with the fair:

Special SIGEP bus: free, it will connect the North, Center and South area as well as a special bus (always free) that will connect the Riccione railway station with the south entrance of the Rimini fair.

Public buses: Line 9, connection with the Rimini railway station

Line 10, connection with the Miramare area

Line 5, connection with the Torre Pedrera area

Parking: Fiera Rimini Parcheggi has 11 thousand paid parking spaces near the three entrances to the fair. During the days of the SIGEP, the car parks are connected by a shuttle service.

With a bit of luck, you can also find a place in the streets adjacent to the spaces of the exhibition center, or near the shopping center not far from the south entrance of the fair (but in this case, beware of traffic when leaving). The south entrance, the main one, is easily recognizable thanks to the four tall glass columns.

The history of sigep

Rimini - The very first edition of SIGEP dates back to the distant 17 January 1980 and took place inside the old Rimini exhibition center (now converted into a conference center). The initiative was sponsored by the Fair Authority, at the suggestion of various trade associations, which wanted an initiative to support their activities. Since its inception,

the event took the name of the Artisan Gelato and Pastry Show, with the acronym of SIGEP.

The first edition saw the participation of 180 Italian companies in the pastry and ice cream sector, spread over an exhibition area of ​​9500 square meters. The event attracted over 30,000 industry operators interested in gathering information and capturing new trends to better face the challenges of the upcoming summer season.

By the time SIGEP celebrated its first 17 years of life in 1997, it had already exceeded 600 exhibitors and more than 43,000 visitors. In that same year, the pavilion dedicated to artisan bakery operators was added.

Soon the so-called "ice cream fair" began to take on the characteristics of its current connotation. The best pastry chefs gave life to an original and unique competition, which saw them as protagonists in the creation of monumental sweets referring to famous Italian architectural works of the Bel Paese.

In 2002, after 22 years of honorable activity, SIGEP found its rightful place in the new Rimini Fair, occupying 11 pavilions for a total of 60,000 m² of exhibition space.

The SIGEP 2015 edition managed to break all the records achieved until then, exceeding 187,000 professional visitors. To understand the increase in this growth, it is enough to consider that the event doubled visitors over the span of five years.

In the last editions the fair has achieved exciting results with the presence of over 200,000 visitors, 1250 exhibitors from all over the world, 28 pavilions occupied for 129,000 square meters of exhibition space, without forgetting the over 400 accredited journalists to underline the great media impact generated by this event . Numbers difficult to replicate for a fair in Rimini.

SIGEP has distinguished itself throughout its history for being a hub of innovation and dissemination of new trends in all five of the supply chains that characterize it, as well as being an international showcase for both established professionals and emerging young people who aspire to become the top players of tomorrow.
